Monday, January 1
Pretty good trade. Wrote to Ellery and thanked him for the gift. Geo walked to PO and part way home with me at noon. Came down about 3:30 to tell dad and people just poured in for 2 hours. Tickled me. He called me up after supper and said he had to work, invoicing. I was sorry, wanted to go to the rink. Dad went up there with a man and Geo skedaddled down her, as it was New Years and they decided not to work. NO one came in for a little while. Geo broke the news gently to Dad. He said aw- let's talk about the weather. ha! ha! We went to rink- masked affair. Started to dance but didn't. Joe bothered us right after we got home.

Tuesday, January 2
Real cold. Cloudy- no biz at all. Geo invoicing- didn't come down all day. Walked over from PO with him. Closed up real early. Went home and sewed some on apron. I told Mom at noon that Geo and I were going to marry. I told Lucile after she retired. We had quite a chat.
Wednesday, January 3
Cold. Cloudy- trying to snow. Stayed at home till noon and sewed. We got up real late. Geo was in about 2. Trade very good. Mom and Juanita came back with Dad. They are went to the show. Geo came down and stayed with me. He left quite awhile before they came. I thought that show would never turn out.

Thursday, January 4
Still cold. Trade bum. Geo in once or twice. Called up about 7 and wanted to know if I wanted to go skating- ice is fine now. We went to the show instead. Sat on the porch awhile- for once we were not disturbed. Lucile spent the night with Eleanor.
Friday, January 5
Still awful cold. Trying to snow. Lucile came down after school. Dad told her he would give her $5 to sell the rest of the chances on the organ. She got busy and sold 10 chances. Pecks wanted her to play for the show she took them up for $4. She was tickled to death. Geo came down but we didn't go anywhere. Juanita came down with me. Dr. Beeler brought us a box of candy.

Saturday, January 6
Blizzard. Sleeting and snowing. Gas is really low. I came down about 9:30- sewed and read. Geo came down in the afternoon. Dad and I ate chili for dinner. While he was gone to supper, Dr. Beeler was in and we were siting by fire talking as big and in came Geo. Mrs. Compton came in to wait so Geo left. Went home by drug store. Asked him to have dinner with us tomorrow. Awful!!! Cold going home.
